Chapter 2: Soloing with the E Major Scale

This next lesson begins with a sample improvised solo over an funky chord vamp in E, along the lines of  the Marvin Gaye song “What’s Goin’ On,” which demonstrates how the E major scale patterns and techniques shown in Chapter 1, along with the E major pentatonic scale and various arpeggios that “live” within the  E major scale, can be applied in musically effective ways. The E major scale is then shown played up and down each string, followed by another sample solo, inspired by Jimi Hendrix’s “May This Be Love,” and E major and major seven arpeggio patterns in a variety of positions.
